The Stoics loved to use the analogy of fire to convey powerful messages.
In antiquity, fire was the only source of heat and light after dark, both of which were crucial for survival. Also as a means to cook food and disinfect water.
Fire itself is undoubtedly responsible for the creation of civilization itself. Without it, we wouldn't be where we are today.
