When you imagine a philosopher, maybe you imagine a very contemplative, introverted person. Someone who retreats from normal life to spend his/her days immersed in thought experiments.
I believe that this ideal of a philosopher is not what we should aspire to become. The ancient Stoics were not mythical figures representing perfection. They were real people living their lives and doing their best, just like you and I.
So what separated them from everyone else? How were they different?
