Weekly Reflection

I remember when I first discovered Stoicism years ago. I had the impression that many of you may have right now as newcomers to the ancient philosophy. It felt intimidating and overwhelming. There was so much content out there and I didn't know where to begin.

I questioned what the backbone of this philosophy was. What formed the base on which everything else was built upon. I had picked up a copy of Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, and started to read a few pages of it. I read the following passage;
