Weekly Reflection
This past week was no ordinary week for me. I decided to climb Mount Teide. For some context, Mount Teide is located on Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, which are a set of islands off the coast of Morocco that belong to Spain.
The Canary Islands are volcanic in origin, making Mount Teide a dormant volcano sitting at a whopping 3718 meters above sea level, also making it Spain's highest peak and the third highest volcano in the world.
As if climbing this beast wasn't risky enough, my friends and I decided to climb in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise from the peak. It turned out to be one of the most difficult, but beautiful experiences of my life. The mountain was a merciless but righteous teacher, so here are four lessons I learned from climbing Mount Teide.
