The New Year is upon us. There are just a few days left before it's 2023 and we begin another lap around the sun. In Western culture, the new year is seen as both an end and a beginning. An opportunity to reflect on the past year and to set intentions for the upcoming one.
Perhaps 2022 didn't go as well as you had expected. Perhaps you aren't satisfied with how it went and you want to make 2023 better. If that's the case, here are five Stoic reminders to help you make the most of next year.
1. Be mindful of your time
Seneca said that it's not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste much of it. Enough of it has been given to achieve the greatest things if it's well invested. It's the most precious resource we have, and we can never get it back. Stop wasting it on trivial things and spend it on what matters to you.
