Even in ancient Rome, the language of philosophy was Greek. Evidently since Marcus Aurelius was educated in Greek and wrote his Meditations in Greek. Over the centuries, much has been lost or misinterpreted through translation. Luckily for us, not all of it was lost. Here are five Greek words that can be practiced daily.
Practice Wisdom (Sophia): In the pursuit of wisdom, the Stoics encouraged self-reflection and constant learning. Epictetus, the Stoic philosopher, said, "It is impossible for a person to begin to learn what he thinks he already knows." Embrace a humble mindset, acknowledging that there's always more to discover. Reading the works of Stoic philosophers, such as Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius, can be a daily source of wisdom.
