As a student of Stoic philosophy, one of the most common yet provocative words I come across is indifference. Zeno, Cato, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus all mention that a Stoic is indifferent to external things, such as wealth, pain, winning, hope, dreams and most other things.
